The Capital Cycle Podcast series was launched by Marathon Asset Management in the summer of 2024. Each episode contains an interview with a member of Marathon’s investment team that has authored a particular Global Investment Review (‘GIR’) article. The Global Investment Reviews have been Marathon’s investor letters for the past four decades and are anchored around Marathon’s shared ‘capital cycle’ investment philosophy aimed at analysing longer-term supply-side dynamics of capital and competition. This podcast initiative leverages that intellectual capital and disseminates Marathon investment team member thoughts more broadly through a new and widely used medium. The podcast series is available on Apple, Spotify and Amazon [and other popular streaming platforms].

New podcast episodes will follow the cadence of Marathon’s Global Investment Review investor letters, which are published eight times a year. The interviews are conducted by friend of the firm Edward Chancellor, the financial historian, author and journalist. Edward knows Marathon and the capital cycle approach to investing well from his work editing and providing introductions to Marathon’s two books, Capital Account (2004) and Capital Returns (2016).
